After you run Patch_SH3.bat, you should have two sh3 files in the folder. One should be sh3.exe (the newly patched version) which should show the SH3 icon. The other should be sh3.old (your original file that the patcher backed up) and should show the Windows document icon. Somehow, Patch_SH3.bat is not putting the patched SH3 in the working folder. I have no idea why not. It may not be creating the patched version, or it may be creating it and putting it somewhere else. In either case, I don't know why or how to fix it.

Could your Patch_SH3.bat be corrupted? Have you refreshed that file from the original download .7z file? Did you unpack the download .7z with 7-Zip? 'Cos any other unpacker (like WinZip) will think it knows how to unpack a .7z, but will give you junk. (I am just WAGing at this point.)

That's not right. You want to copy the the patched SH3.exe into the "Supplement to V16B1 (JSGME)" folder which should be located in your MODS folder.

From the readme:

"2) Preparing the Supplement-Mod

Note: The Supplement-Mod is essential, not optional !!!

a. Extract the Supplement to V16 Mod archive

b. Put the patched sh3.exe into that mod (into the same folder where the 4 DLLs are
located)."

This way you don't lose your vanilla or GWX modified SH3.exe, and it means disabling Hardcoded Fixes is as easy as disabling the Supplement Mod in JSGME.

I'll admit this mod was a bit of an adventure for me to set up, but if you go through the manual step by step you will get it working.

@Avers Append simply means to "add to".

Open up AVG. Open "Options" Open "Advanced Settings" on the left you will see "Exceptions"

There you can add an Exception. I just excepted my whole Silent Hunter folder.

Have not had any AVG Alerts since then...

Good Luck !!

Some images with installation would help.
