Default Sh3 Commander problem

My pc froze when trying to start Commander. Upon rebooting and trying to start Commander, I get an "Error !" message in the rank and flotilla boxes of my career, and the same message in only the flotilla box in single mission/new career.
Opening the flotilla menu produces a long vertical list of "Error !" messages.
Commander worked fine until this pc freeze and the Commander readme addressing this problem is not relevant/does not apply. An hour of google searches produced no answers.

Any ideas how to fix this, or is a re-install in order ?

Ouch...

Racked My brain for any possible fix... to what you described there... & coming up blank on My end, John... Sorry...

At this rate, am thinking, as much as it pains Me to say.. might be time to initiate a core dump & reinstall...

I feel your pain there...

Hate to hear that occurred... I really do.

Gute jagd, ihr Himmelhunde.!

Hi John Pancoast try this long shot just fire up SH3 and see if you can see your campaign saves if so fire up your last campaign patrol save and see if it fires up if so then finish your patrol dock at home port so it updates your campaign carrer save leave game then see if you can fire up your carrer with commander mod.

Thanks guys. It wouldn't start even via the sh3.exe, so I'm just doing a re-install.
Who knows; Sh3 quirks strike again.

It happened to me once... tried everything in my arsenal but couldn't fix it... as you did the only way to solve it was to re install everything, losing careers and all the info....

Sorry it happened to you too ... however, then I learned to make a backup of my careers so if it happens again, I can restore them to the "Documents" folder after reinstalling SH3, no matter what version you use (GWX, GWR, Onealex, CCOM, LSH3, whatever)...

Yep, career wasn't a problem; it was backed up and I backed up the mod folder and then just followed the order via the mod list printout via Commander.
Easy re-install

Good!!! Then damage was not as big as it could.... Takes some time to re install, but as long as your careers and mods are backed-up, it is solvable

Exactly. Game re-install was a simple copy/paste of the stock install I keep as a backup.
Install the mods, done Took maybe twenty minutes.
