Default TMO 2.5 ai difficulty question

Hello. I find the TMO destroyer ai a little too difficult and want to tone it down. I have read some threads that seem to suggest that RSRDC (which i am now installing) makes the enemy ai a little less 'expert'. Is this true? I have also found Easier AI for TMO 2.5. Has anyone tried this?

USE RSRD for more historic shipping traffic and battles.

Use the easier TMO AI for just that.

You might also want to try out real fleet boat instead. TMO is more geared towards making the game challenging for an experienced player while RFB is more geared towards historical accuracy.

Easier AI will be good for you.

But TMO is the most hard of the supermods.

Regards.

The RSRDC thing is true - it doesn't make the escort AI a pushover at all, but since escort skill setting is part of the campaign files, RSRDC has the majority of escorts in the game set to rather medium skill, whereas almost all escorts in TMO are set to veteran or elite.

Exactly, RSRD doesn't change the AI settings themselves, but uses a gentler mix of crew ratings. Just assume crew ratings as multipliers of the AI. However, RSRD still uses many veteran settings, more at different periods in the war, so don't get comfortable, you may run into a convoys escorted by more competent escorts than veterans or even a mix of both, then run into a convoy full of veteran escorts.

RFB is nice and I do enjoy playing it but there are physics issues which I feel are still unrealistic about it. I add ISP to it in order to get a bit better play out of it.
