Look at this mod by toniloCoyote.

Since when mast heights have been fixed, those green lines are no longer required. Just use the top of the tallest ship mast, as reference for stadimeter measurements.

ToniloCoyote's fixed dimensions are already included in New UI's, but if you prefer using CSP MaGui instead, I suggest you enabling "TRUE SH5 Ships' Dimensions" together with that user interface.
