Default Question about saved games.

Does anyone know where saved games are located? My game in the last 24 hours is almost refusing to load a saved game any longer. It either doesn't complete the saved game load or crashes during the "not so long ago" screen. This just started yesterday and I changed nothing in the game in that time. I looked through some old posts from years ago and someone said something about the saved game folder getting too full and causing problems. I can't find that folder in the location they said it was in. I play the game through steam so I'm wondering if that changes saved game location? Thanks for any help.

(My) Documents / SH3 is the usual folder. You cannot load saves from a play in a different mod from what you're playing now, and sometimes, the saves just get corrupted. The further into a career you go, the bigger the save file...

Don't do anything with saves. First if you use SH commander, press roll back button, then exit commander, uninstall all mods via jsmge and install them one by one again to see which is causing ctd. They use a lot of ram memory. This is the most probable cause. Do you use Large address aware or 4 GB mod?

I don't know what you mean by Large aware address or 4GB mod. I don't use SH Commander. I will try the removing mods via JSGME one at a time and see how that goes.

Since sh3 is 32 bit application, it uses max 2 GB by default even in 64 bit system. LAA or 4 GB mod are useful to make the game allocate more than default 2 GB ram. When you have more heavier mods, the game likes to crash.

Hi Ps
SH3 is designed to use the 4gb patch apllication.
You can find it in my LSH3 tutorial downloads if you do not have it.

Your saved games is in careers.
C:\Documents\SH3\data\cfg\careers\name of Captain
Each Captain will have his own career folder containing his saved games.
You can see that the folders build up a lot of data.

Thank you for the replies fellas. While looking at info on the 4G patch I found that the "Supplement to V16B1" mod has the 4G patch included in it. I installed the "Supplement to V16B1" mod quite a while ago and it works great. But while reading the "readme" pdf of the mod I see that it says the 4G patch must be clicked in the OptionsSelector" in the mod. I cannot find the "OptionsSelector". I am able to change weather frequency options and such in the hsie.ini file but the 4G patch selector is not in that section. Can anyone guide me to the "OptionsSelector" so I can see if it is clicked by default or if I need to manually click it. Thanks.

The OptionsSelector is is the exe for the HSIE patches to make your game changes.
As you have not got this installed you will not find it.
Remember you are taking the 4gb patch from an addon.
I have the 4gb patch in my tutorials.

The picture shows the HSIE patches that can be changed.
LSH3-2015 comes with the HSIE and 4gb patch.
You can see that the HSIE shows the 4gb patch enabled.
This is done automatically in LSH3-2015 as are some of the enabled HSIE patches.
