Default Buy direct?

Hi there folks, hope you're well.

I'm very interested in getting into SH and have never owned any of the titles, but from reading around, SH5 and the WOS mod seems popular.

Thanks very much btw, to everyone for all the helpful threads and info here, it will be very useful!
However I've not seen anything on where to buy from.......as I hear the Steam version is FUBAR.
Apologies if I've missed the links for it somewhere. So I presume I just buy SH5 from Ubisofts website? (download?)
And then I'll follow all the advice here to update and mod.

And I take it I'll be able to have campaigns in and around UK waters and the Atlantic as well as the WOS Pacific?

I'm on Windows 7 64 bit btw.

Thanks all! Looking forward to it, looks very immersive!

John.

Buy it from Amazon through Subsim. You can get it download or a disk version. Check the Quick Links for a link to Amazon.

Thanks HW3, sorry I missed that section, I usually just go straight into the forum.
Bonus it's cheap too!

I know TWOS mod is Pacific theater, but Is there a Atlantic/UK area campaign within SH5
as well right?

Thanks again.

Thanks very much chaps, all installed, updated, and modded to TWOS!

Now the learning begins!

When I first started the campaign I noticed it gives on-screen tips, I take it the first mission is kind of a tutorial, will be useful for the likes of me!

Can you spot my obvious noob mistake in the above post lol!?
I did not in fact have TWOS working, as the tutorial mission i was in was the vanilla game! DERP!!!!

All good now though 100% confirmed working!

Funny experience: I tried the 'Stations' tutorial from the history missions thingy. As it was telling me how to approach and use the flack/deck guns, curiosity got the better of me as we seemed to be in the middle of an air raid in the harbor! I fired at an overhead B17 and it was hit, it stalled on fire, and dropped straight down onto my sub and we ended up sinking!
Not sure if it was me that hit it, but damn that was a lucky shot if so!
^^ my first experience in TWOS

One more thing, as awesome and immersive as the German speech is, is there a trick to enable English subtitles?

Cheers all.
