So is the context in relation to the term 'dismemberment'?

It is. I used google translate, ´cause I suddenly couldn't remember how the word dismembered was spelled and it gave me the word parting.

As I wrote before, with the limited choices that his defense has, pleading guilty to the dismemberment may be the best he can do. This forces the prosecution to find evidence that deals with the murder but not the dismembership.

It is a long shot, but he does not exactly have a lot of choices.

Having read a lot about serial killers in the US, this smells a lot like it. Bind, torture, kill. If he also did kill the woman found in '86 it would be strange if there were only the two. I doubt we will ever know.

This was indeed new to me that PM can choose this himself.

Breaking news - so to speak...
As expected, PM has chosen a lay judge case. This means that less people will decide his fate. I guess he feared that the 6 jurors would have made up their mind before the trial.
Now, it will be a trial with 1 juridical judge with a juridical education and 2 lay judges without a juridical education.

For those still keeping up with this...

http://www.newsweek.com/kim-wall-upd...-murder-809399

A female friend of Peter Madsen sent him a text message some days before the ill fated final trip of the UC3. In the text, the woman was looking for inspiration on what i assume to be a macabre writing project of some kind in which she asked Peter to tell her about a scary situation to help her along.

Supposedly she has turned over text messages to the authorities in which Peter described a man and a woman being trapped aboard a submarine together during which time he used various tools and implements to torture and murder the woman.

Quote:
“He says he has a murder plan ready in the submarine, and I tell him I am not afraid, you have to be more threatening,” the woman said. “He talks about the tools he wants to use, and I say, ‘Oh, it’s not threatening.’”

An unidentified woman who was a former sexual partner of Madsen’s told Wired she asked the inventor via text message to “motivate her with a threat” in order to get her to finish a project she was working on. The exchange reportedly occurred days before Wall got on Madsen’s submarine.

The exchange then “darkened,” according to the Wired report, and Madsen discussed inviting someone on the submarine and cutting her up. The woman reportedly did not think much of the texts at the time but has now turned them over to the police.
My wife, who is employed by the local police department has done a lot of keeping up with the story with me, she has been sharing the details as they become available with a couple of her detective friends.

as she said .... and as her colleagues seem to agree... "his goose is as good as cooked"

I reckon his chances of getting off are the same as my chances on winning the Euro Millions Lottery on four consecutive Saturdays.

I'd suggest 'psychopathic tendencies' was a bit of an understatement

Investigators never found Madsen's phone, but they were able to recreate its contents, the prosecutor said. Hours before boarding the submarine with Wall on Aug. 10, Madsen had searched for the words "beheading," "girl" and "agony."

A video of a woman having her throat slit was on his phone. Videos showing women being tortured and executed also were found on his computer.
