Default Iceberg problem

I did a search here and didn't find anything, I doubt I'm the first to notice this.

I made a mission near the north pole and added some enviromental objects "iceberg" "iceberg5" "iceberg25". Gave them a random start box.

I can never see them with ownship HF active sonar. As i get closer to them with truth on, the "x" greys out like dead platform.

AI subs can pass through them with no collision, but the berg doesn't get "killed" like it did when I got near them. One sub changed depth from 555ft to 77ft while passing through the iceberg while on a transit tatic.

Is it me, or do icebergs "not work" in DW?

There's definitely some wierd stuff that goes on the the HF sonar that makes it very difficult to know where the boundaries of the berg are. I'm not comfortable using them.

The ice bergs in DW are huge, I once extracted the model and it is massive, more like a wall than a berg.

Ramius found a model of a proper berg and it is on my list of enviromentals to make.

Default Icebergs

Torpedos can cross the iceberg without explosion, too.

so they said
Thats a baby compared to the ones that are in DW at the moment

Plus done of the DW ones are visible above water.

The best way to see the size of them is to make a mission with one in it, show truth and then zoom out in the 3d window (might take a while)

Yep so they need redoing and reclassifying.

They are like a massive block and don't float.

i know i went to 888 ft depth and still wasnt near the bottom of one of those bergs. In game, bergs disappear if ownship gets within a few miles of them (not sure why). zooming from an AI ship will let you see the 'bergs.
