Major TMO 2.1 Issue - Urgent...

Okay, I'm sick of people telling me that this is my fault.

I did a fresh install of the game. And I still have no deck gun.

I did not try to change the position of the gun - there is just no option to put in a deck gun when I go to fit out the sub for my first patrol.

This really sucks because I just launched all torpedoes, fore and aft, at a submarine transiting the open Pacific. 20 hit. None exploded.

I came to surface with the intent of using my twin 20mm cannons to kill the deck gunners. I sank with all hands while trying to ram.

I read the manual 5 times. I did NOT cause this problem.

Help?

If this keeps up I'll just quit playing subsims.

TMO 2.1 does not have major issues that I'm aware of. All works as designed on my rig.

Your fresh install entails what proceedure?
You are using the uboat missions add on as well?
After you deleted the game did you do a file search under SH4?
Did your remove the saved files in your DOCUMENTS folder?
Any other mod installed that will not work with TMO 2.1?



*A clean install requires everything SH4 related to be removed (exception of the mod folder).

I have the U Boat Missions (and I can use the deck guns on U Boats)

The fresh install was actually due to me building a new computer.

I ran the disk from scratch on my new machine, and patched it up. Then I installed U Boat Missions. Then I installed TMO and the 2.1 upgrade.

Not once did I have a deck gun while running a fleet boat.

I don't understand. You get a new computer and created a fresh install? The game does not work as designed. Correct?



The game worked ok with your old rig while using TMO?

What boat are you using? What year is it? Did you have any refits recently? What gun was missing? What guns do you or are supposed to have? Did you at any time enable or disable the aft deck gun sub mod at any time with this career game?

edit: Most importantly, do you have ANY other mods installed? If you run any mod with TMO (other then the ones i included in TMO itself), i wash my hands of the issue.

Okay, heres a whole history.

On my old rig I ran TMO 2.1 fine - for about a week. After a week of TMO on my old rig, no gun.

On my new rig, the game works 100% fine stock. As soon as I put in TMO, no deck gun. When I revert to stock, just fine. But when I have TMO on I don't have a deck gun.

I never enabled or disabled the aft deck gun mod, nor and I running any mods with TMO 2.1

Really sounds like you got a bad download of TMO some how.
I'd try an new download of both TMO 2.0 and the 2.0 to 2.1 update or at least a copy you haven't ever installed if you got one.

First question is, do you have the SHIV, The Gold Edition? If you do, you do not need to do any patching. The Gold Edition is the latest version which is v1.5.

If you don't have the Gold Edition, but just the UBM expansion disk, just run over the stock game with the UBM as it has all previous version already installed.

I would try uninstalling the game then reinstall SHIV and just install the UBM over the stock game and I suspect things will be working correctly.
