Default Transparent Watch crew..

I'm having a problem where if it is foggy the watch crew on the surface deck will become semi transparent, I enjoy having ghosts spotting enemy ships and all but id rather have a real living crew.

The mods I'm using are that order:
GFO 1.1
RSRDC V401
GFO patch for RSRDC
Real Environment
GFO patch for RealEnv

Turn off "Volumetric Fog" under graphics settings.

Thanks alot, I do have other questions I hope its ok to ask here:

- On my 2nd patrol I was ordered to go to Marshal islands and do anti-shipping but there was no shipping to be found, I circled those islands for a few days and not single ship was spotted, meanwhile there were absolutely loads of planes that constantly buzzed over me, I found it strange that such a heavily monitored area would be empty of ships, is this meant to be or is something wrong with my installation?

- Second thing is whenever there is light fog visibility suffers massively and I only spot ships in <500kms range, basically when face-to-face where I cant use my torpedoes, any way I can get around that?

- 3rdly, Im sad to say I had quite a bunch of careers ended while stranded out at sea because I ran out of fuel, its hard to estimate the range left when consumption while heading out seems to be different when returning.

Wow, the screen shot reminds me of the "Philadelphia Experiment'.

No, this can just be normal behavior. There are some mods out that limit the air patrols however.

Not sure about this one, might be related to the Volumetric Fog setting mentioned above

When traveling to/from patrol areas use 1/3 speed or if playing stock unmodified set the speed to 9 or 10 knots. Any slower or faster is inefficient fuel usage especially in the stock unmodified game. Monitor your fuel situation and be sure to head back or towards a refueling point in a timely manner. Oh, and if you don't already know... when you get close enough to your home base OR a refueling base a small icon pops up in the upper right corner. Click on it and it will give you refueling and/or return to base options otherwise you can spend hours cruising around the port/base and wonder why you can't gain access to the port. I know... LOL this happened to me as a newbie.

Hope this helps.

I don't know GFO, as I use TMO, but there may be an option to get the range to end of course, and maximum range at current speed. These are useful. Use the maximum range at different speeds, and watch how it changes. You'll see some obvious changes in efficiency that make moderate speeds great for long range travel and patrolling.
