Default Mk37s not engaging.

Howdy from Houston.

Been playing some random missions with the RA Skipjack and its Mk37 Torpedoes.

Problem has been after locating and engaging the enemy subs the mk37s never seen to lock onto the enemy and happily sail right on by without locking on. (verified with show truth)

Before you ask:

1-Search settings are not out of bounds for depth or ceiling.
2-Torpedoes are enabled.

Any ideas?

It has happened to me with the Mk-48s. I wonder if it is in the game code to account for imperfections. ??? Also, I wondered if it was the possibility for a decoy being present, too.

Well granted the enemy did launch a decoy initially, but after several misses I turned SHOW TRUTH on and literally steered the MK37 onto its doorstep....

...no engagement and no decoys this time.

It was a freaking SAURO class SSK that was caveating for crying out loud.....not a difficult target.

I've had this problem as well. I think that it is something that has been done deliberately by the mod makers.

It is not limited only to the US torpedoes, I have even experienced wake homing russian torpedoes that passed through a big wake, turned around a few times then lost the trail and ran out of fuel.

It makes a good case for firing at least 2 torpedoes at each target and in the case of wire guided torpedoes, attacking with a pincer movement.
