Default New aircraft in IL-2 1946

How many of you guys fly teh new planes in 1946? I mean the fantastical contraptions that might have been but never were.

I tried them when I got the game and been flying them now and then if I feel bored. I like the Heinkel Lerche. :p

Don't really use them, they have a novelty value, but the truth is that it's mostly anyone's guess how they would really have performed (probably badly), so it's a bit too far in the realms of fantasy for my liking to use them, given that their performance in the sim is largely a wild guess.

Even 'exotic' Nazi aircraft such as the Heinkel Salamander, which actually made it to limited use, were at best shaky, the one the RAF tested post-war crashed killing the test pilot when it fell to bits as he rolled it. The fans on the Me 262's engines were known for disintegrating, often with fairly disastrous consequences, and the Me 163 Komet was probably more useful to the Allies given the amount of pilots it killed, often in a very grisly fashion.

I'd be interested to see how some of those designs perform in X-Plane, given that X-Plane does actually calculate flight characteristics based on the form of the aircraft.

I like the Heinkel Lerche but I dont know how to land it. I just eject over my airport and call it a succesful mission.
The Yak and MiG are fun too

thought they modelled planes by their building plans I find it interesting to fly with it

like the ME262 ingame it goes into flames when you throttle too quikly like they did in real life that the engines just melt.

I like the ME262 and the HE162 to fly for fun.

The HE-162 was a death trap and a crazy design.

The YP-80 is fun too, except when the engines decide to quit on me during the worst possible times, like in dogfights. Actually they seem to quit on me not matter what, its fun while it lasts though.
