Default Can’t launch game In windowed mode

I can’t seem to be able to launch DW in windowed mode, I am in 16 bit resolution but I still get the error that I need to be in 16 bit resolution.

It's because probably you are NOT in 16 bit desktop colour depth.
What windows you use?

Can you make screenshot of desktop+message?

I change desktop color depth to 16 bit (win7 x64) every time and all works fine.
Message appears only when desktop is still in true color 32 bit.

In 16 bit color "aero peek" shouldn't work (bottom bar is not transparent). Check it.

Change gfx card settings to "controlled by application"

I, too, have no issue launching the game in a window in 16-bit color (or rather, I didn't, just got Windows 10 recently). You're changing to 16-bit color by right clicking the Desktop and messing with "Screen Resolution"?

Ok, launch game in full screen mode, go to options -> 3D and check "windowed" description:

If game don't recognise 16 bit it looks like:

otherwise it should looks like this:

If you able to check "windowed" square - just check it and game should switch to windowed mode.

You could try opening up the dangerouswaters.ini file in your Dangerous Waters directory, find the entry "RunInWindow" and change it to Yes.

Maybe you change color depth without applying? Or maybe you have 2 or more displays?

Can you make screenshot of your color depth settings?

Maybe your gfx card force additional settings?

We don't know this - you should check it mate.

Your Dangerous Waters don't recognise High color desktop depth, so we have 3 options:
- you are still in 32 bit color
- your gfx card force 32 bit color - independently to desktop settings
- you have something wrong with Dangerouswaters.exe (like compatibility mode?)

What screenshot? I don't see any screens.
