Default Bentwaters Air Show 2010

The first airshow at Bentwaters since the closure of the airbase in 1993.
A nice line up, no B-17 sadly as weather prevented her arrival, however a last minute call by Carolyn Grace meant that a Supermarine Seafire was secured.
Fantastic show, nice to be at an airshow where there is a runway to see them take off and land as opposed to the usual airshow at Lowestoft where it's just flypasts.
I can see big things for Bentwaters as an airshow venue as the runway is long enough to accommodate jets up to the 1990s generation (it had just been upgraded to take the new generation of jets when the Berlin wall fell in '89) and hopefully next year will have even more aircraft available.
James May of Top Gear fame was at the event although I did not see him, only hearing him as he came briefly onto the microphone to answer a question on the differences between Royals Royce Merlin and Griffon engines. Static Harriers were on show, along with BIRD DOG, a Stearman and an L-5 amongst others. A replica Hurricane was also available, for ten pounds you could have your picture taken standing on it like Dougie Bader, sadly it was £10 I didn't have but perhaps next year.

I will not post all the pictures as full pictures but leave some as links because out of 213, I have whittled it down to 44 and even 44 pictures would be too much for one thread.

Magnificent, thanks for the pics.

Can't ID a thing in IL2, but recognize most of these instantly.

The Bronco was in West German colours

I'd have liked to have seen that 190 though, shame it didn't show.

Thanks for the comments guys, it was a fantastic day out. Looking forward to next years
