Default SH5 broken??

I treated myself to a new PC last December (Birthday not Xmas) and I have installed SH5 and played it a bit.
It's a while since I've played and I thought I'd re-visit my sub.
I tried running SH5 via the Ubisoft launcher and it shows the introductory video and then just sits at a blank screen.
I know there have been a number of video driver updates since I got my system so I suppose that could be what's broken it, but it's been so long since I played that I've no idea what the last working setup was....
Any ideas?
Checking my folders I've got mods installed, looks like WOS 1.06, is that still valid?
Sorry to sound so dumb but it's been ages since I looked at it....

PS. It looks like quite a lot has changed since I last played, I'm considering a new install with latest WOS, probably the best way to go?

Thanks for that, I'd already done a bit of experimenting and run SH5 exe direct from the folder with Win7 compatability & administrator rights and it got a lot further. Crashed when I tried to resume campaign, so there might be further problems there. I might just bite the bullet and do a full re-install, I don't think I'd any significant career progress to lose... and put latest WOS on too.

Default Sorted!

All done, clean install, patch and WOS installed.
Good to go and looking great.
It's even kept my old saves.
But I think it's time to start a new career.
Better do some training first, I'm pretty rusty....
