Default Which Mod should i use?

Hello to everyone!


Hope this is the right place for this Question^^ I´m installed SH3 after a long time again but i don´t know which Mod/MegaMod i should use. Which one is better and which do you more recommend? GWX, Living Silent Hunter or maybe WAC?

Sorry, but there is no "better". All are good, and all have something different to offer. If you want the best-looking game, use LSH3. For the most accurate gameplay (and the hardest one to survive), choose NYGM. WAC gives you the best campaign scenario, and GWX provides the best combination of gameplay, graphics and campaign.

WAC 5.2 is just amazing on everything.

- best looking sub
- best looking effects
- best looking flags
- best looking harbors
- very good looking ships
- best convoys behavior
- very good AI
- awesome campaign

The counterpart is you need a very good PC to run it comfortably

This is most certainly the right place to ask such question!
As Steve described, choosing which megamod to use (if any) should base on your personal preference on what do you want from the game. More detailed descriptions and comparisons can be found on forums, for example:

What megamods to add on top of those is also a matter of preference. You can find modlists posted by salty veterans from which you can draw inspiration. Popular enhancements are esthetic mods like widegui, MEP, soundpacks etc. Some of these are also included in some megamods like LSH. Then there are lots of little things like removing the "jawohl herr kaleun" after a command which might make your experience a bit better.

I’m a big NYGM nut. Who needs harbors! You don’t spend much time there anyway! You want the thrill of being hunted? You want to make your game suspenseful? Imagine every move you make could mean success or doom?

- awesome platform for 100% realism

I had GWX before but later switched to WAC. I love those eye candies and great campaigns. I would say it is a good combination of many different mods.
It may not be as difficult as NYGM, but harder than vanilla and LSH. LSH has the best graphics, but WAC is not far behind. I am currently playing it on full realism. Sometimes it can be quite challenging. The only drawback is its high hardware requirement.
