Default AUX vessel on map

have been enjoying the expansion to SH4, even with the bugs remaining. Can anyone tell me what an AUX is when shown on map on top of a stationary surface ship, with German flag as a background. Thought it was an auxilliary to refuel from but when I reached the spot nothing there.

Default Further progress

Looks like they are Friendly Armed Merchants and you can direct them to travel to a particular location. Don't seem any good for refitting.

AUX = Auxiliary Cruiser = Hilfskreuzer = Merchant Raiders, Refitted Merchants that shoot at stuff with 5.9" Guns

As you rank up there are also Panzerschiffs, Japanese CruDivs and Japanese Battleship Task Forces you can direct around

It's the same as calling in Scouts from Carriers and Airbases

Default Thanks

Thanks Raptor1, couldn't see any reference in the manual, but what you say makes sense and opens up lots of possibilities.

Just click on them and you can draw a line to where you want them to go. But you have to time things right if you want to be in the araea to watch the fun. Also I used a task force to intercept a task force I was supposed to take out. The allied force decimated the enemy and I was unable to complete my mission. I should have called them off before they took out everything, but there is always next time.
