Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad

Hi there!

just read an interview and it seems very nice... more a FPS but will have a strong tank simulation part

Quote:
For starters we have fully modeled the entire interior of every tank in the game. At any position in the tank the player will see what a real person in the tank would see. Look down and you’ll see your hands operating all of the levers. Move between positions and it will be fully animated in first person. And your tank will have a full crew of either AI NPC’s or human players to fight alongside you. Look to your right and you will see the hull machine gunner blasting away at the enemy. Fire the main cannon, and you’ll see an NPC crewman reloading the cannon shell beside you. You have a living breathing crew all around you and you can see all of the elements of the tank operating. When a shell penetrates your armor, you’ll see your crewmates die around you, and hear their screams as the tank catches fire.

check it out HERE

Saw the trailer a few weeks ago and reckon this should be a lot of fun particularly if you can get a group togther to crew a tank or act as a team online.

I played a lot of RO and apart from a couple of times I played with one of my Clan members, team work just wasn't happening.
At the start of a new level it was usually a mad rush to grab your own tank and go find the enemy.
I ended up playing infantry only levels in the end.
Looking forward to the new RO though!

personally, I can't wait. As cool as tank battles were in the original, i bet my mind will be absolutely blown now. The cool part is, its able to capture the infantry part as well. you can bail out of a damaged tank and fight your way out of hot situations, or you can play the infantry card, laying in wait with a satchel, AT rifle, or Pz faust, lookign for that thank to kill

I never used the AT rifle against tanks honestly. with that kinda range and power, coupled with a good eye, you can blow people apart from quite a distance.
