[REL] Sub vs Sub Mod

A new mod for Silent Hunter IV long awaited !!
I suggest to enter in the combat submarine.

I created the Gato, Tambor, sargo ..... IXD2 and the submarine plunged VIIA kind.


VIIA you attack with torpedoes in the mission "sub dived."
That I will say no more!

I'm very sorry for my bad English.

These submarines are controlled by IA


Sub vs sub README :

To use this mod, you must add a new ship mod [(for example a ship (uss iowa mod) or a submarine (uss kraken) ] and load a mission
with your ship/submarine mod and NOT WITH THE SUBMARINES OF "AI SUB MOD" (balao, IXD2, Gato, Sargo, Porpoise...)

Installation :

-Copy in your MODS folder these 3 folders : "AI SUB", "AI SUB IXD2" and "Torp VIIA mod"

-Copy "single missions for AI sub mod" in your single missions folder.

-ENJOY !!

just tried your mod, and they dont work for me. i have enabled AI Subs, then AI SUB IXD2, then AI torpedo mod. i have copied all the missions in the /singlemissions folder. on US side, none of the missions will work, game crashes. on German side, only the first mission listed, 2 IXD" against 3 gatos, one narwhal and one S-class will work. too bad as reading got me really excited....

Are the JSGME ready? If not what are the instillation instructions.

Yes, I think I found the problem of crash of the game : delete the "gar class submarine" and after, normally it will work.

In fact, It was very easy to build this mod!

I do this tutorial in case the mod is do not work.

I would advise you to keep the single missions and I explain how I did this mod :

Instructions to build this mod :

-take the original submarine folder of your game (for example the gato class) and copy it in a new folder (I suggest to keep your new folder on your desktop).

This mod don't need any instructions because you just put the folders on your "MODS" folder. Simple no ?

ok, but you need to replace the subs ID`s with random new ones, or the game will mistake the ai sub with files from the original submarine. you did not do that, the game will crash

Where do you change that? The tutorial is deleted
I have been trying to add the Los Angeles class together with the Ohio class and i'm pretty sure the game is crashing because they share the same id.

And sorry for hijacking this thread, it wont happen again :p

Well, I am very confused again because I forgot some instructions for this mod.
I though it was very simple to install this mod but any details and files are missed.
I created a official readme now. I modified my first message of sub vs sub mod.

So now, I hope you can enjoy this mod. I apologize for my forgetfulness

Ce mod permet effectivement de jouer sous-marins contre sous-marins.
Cela manque certainement d'explications mais c'est assez difficile à expliquer...
Bon en fait, le dossier "AI sub" (en activant le mod via JSGME bien sûr) permet de faire contrôler les sous-marins américains par l'ordinateur (ou l'IA)
Le dossier IA sub IXD2 permet de faire contrôler le sous-marins allemand IXD2 par l'ordinateur.

Donc si par exemple tu actives le mod AI sub, tu ne peux pas charger une mission avec le gato, le balao, le sargo ect... et pour le AI sub IXD2 tu ne peux pas charger une mission avec le IXD2 sinon le jeux crash.

La mission "sub vs german sub" a besoin des 2 mods AI sub et AI sub IXD2 et donc cette mission doit être chargée avec le sous-marin "Type XVIII Walther U-boat" inclus dans le patch 1.5 de SH4.

Certaines missions ont besoin que du AI sub ou AI sub IXD2 et vice-versa...

La mission "sub plonged" requière les mods "Torp VIIA mod" et "AI torpedo mod" (un sous-marin allemand vous lance des torpilles au cours de cette mission).

Je sais que ce mod demande beaucoup de détails que je ne peux pas expliquer car ce serait trop long. Si ça peut vous aider, regarder les missions inclus dans ce mod avec SH4 Mission Editor pour voir les unités présentent dans une mission.

Je t'avais déjà reconnu, en fin il me semblait parce que gibus me rappelais quelqu'un dans le forum milles sabords ;-). Au fait merci de l'invitation au forum milles sabords mais je me suis déjà inscrit il y a quelque temps....
Je pense aussi que le fait d'exposer mon mod sub vs sub pourrait rendre service à beaucoup de monde mais ne t'inquiète pas, je promets de le partager au forum quand j'aurais le temps : peut être ce week-end ou cet aprem :-)
Je ferai de mon mieux pour que ce mod sera le plus rapidement sur milles sabords :-)
