Default How do you know when they're dead?

Hi all,
I've taken some pretty serious damage to my sub and a lot of my crew have turned red. Then, in time, they all slowly turn back white again and seem to be back to normal.
Will they ever die? How do you know when they're dead?

I'm running GFO.

they get light red when injured and will heal over time, they do die, I think they turn dark red or something like that but they can and do die on you

A small skull & crossbones icon appears on them when dead I believe. Awhile ago I lost one of my deck watch on a surface action finishing off a crippled armed freighter. It was a lucky shot, I was out of effective range... Or so I thought

Orange/pink for injured, red is dead.
Their stats will indicate the same.

I've never seen any special icon, but I did lose one crewman. WHen I returned to base, he was the only one that didn't heal his health back to 100%. That's how I found out he was dead. So I replaced him.

Close your eyes ...

Now open them again ....

Couldn't open them?

Then your dead.
