1.4 patch on windows 10

Hey everyone

I finally got sh4 running on windows 10 everything works great except I could not install the 1.4 patch. I downloaded it and when I opened it i got a message saying that there where no game files found on the hard drive. I have the original copy of sh4 1.2 has anyone else run into this problem? And if so what or how did you fix it?

Seems to me there were two versions of the patch v1.4. One was for the commercial dvd sold and another was fro the downloaded version. You might have the wrong version.

On a side note, you would be better served if you just get v1.5 which is the latest version of SH4. Most or all of the mods that come out nowadays are geared toward v1.5 of SH4.

Can I just buy the u-boat expansion pack or do I have to buy the gold series?
And if I can just purchase the expansion pack do I have to have SH4 already at 1.4 before I can install u-boats?

Whatever version of SH4 you have whether it be v1.0 or v1.4 should be able to take the UBM with no problems.

Also, you don't have to get the Gold Edition, the UBM should suffice. Either way you'll bring the game up to v1.5 which is where you want to be.

The "folder" where you installed the game to can influence whether you can get a "patch" to install successfully, John6958. If you're in the "Program Files (x86)" folder, most versions of Windows "protects" that area. You might be able to copy the \Ubisoft folder structure to the "root" of your "C:\" drive, and get the patch to take there.

Let us know whick folder where you installed your game. Is it a "Steam" version?

I have a 1.2 cd version of the game i recently un-installed the game and re-installed it on the desk top instead of C drive and this still didnt work purchased the u-boat upgrade package and same issue i get an error warning telling me i need to install sh4

When trying to install the UBM you might have to manually change the path to your SH4 folder. It's telling you to install SH4 because it can't locate it on your hard drive.

Okay that makes sense im going to try that i think if that dont work im going back to windows 8.1 lol
