If you use NYGM, know this; it's hard. If you get set on by a warship, you better not go lightly. They're hard to shake. The game is also not an 'eye candy' sort of game. More attention is paid to the hazards of war, instead of the beauty of it's surroundings: though there are mods to improve the look of things. I suggest you try both and determine for yourself. That's really the only way you'll know for sure. It may require you uninstalling and reinstalling SH3. Some here know how to use multiple installations, and can help you on that. Either way, welcome aboard and good hunting.

You're playing SH3 like the rest of us, that means you're a masochist (like the rest of us ).. thus NYGM is the one for you.

I'll keep it simple. GWX gets my vote.

I don't recall who said it: "NYGM doesn't have the best graphics, but you get a nice accurate death."

Ahhh.. Yes... Steam!!

No idea.. but if I had a STEAM ship in my sights I'd send all 5 torps at it, have instant reload and send another 5 torps... while it's going down I'd ram it just to make sure...

Know what I mean ...

It's nice to have a spare, but you don't have to get a second copy to have multiple installations. use Multi-SH3 and make all the installs you need.

As has already been stated, you use just one copy of SH3 to do a vanilla install, then use the successor to Multi-SH3, which is here:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=4441

You make a copy of the folder that your vanilla SH3 is in and make copies of it, naming them according to something like SH3-GWX, SH3-NYGM, etc, then use copies of JSGME in each folder to customize that copy. It's all in the manuals.

NYGM and GWX are the 2 mods I have the most experience with and I can say that personally I like NYGM way more. GWX would always crash on me. Graphics wise they're about the same. If you choose NYGM make sure you add the Stiebler and Hsie add-ons to the game.
