Im not really sure but Ill have a look.

I am used to SH3, where the whole convoy will begin to start swerving but generally continue on the same course.

Is it not the same with regard to Japanese convoys? Do they shift course totally and if so, do they all do so at the same time or do they all get jumbled up into eachother and start going different directions?

If it's the same thing almost. But I understand that this is a tutorial mission. Perhaps the author was a joke ... You have to go see.

So you have been spotted, uncertainly.

AFAIK, it works the same in SH4.

I don't really use missions much, but they can have randomized waypoint locations, so that every time you load the mission, you will get a somewhat different pattern of zigging. This could lead to movements that seem very nonsensical to the player.

Does the mod add new playable ships or does it just add new ships you can run it to?

Only adds new AI ships, no playables.

Does this mod adjust to a more realistic ship physics such as rate of sped change and ascent and decent or is there a mod like Ship Physics 1 that is compatible with it?

FOTRS v13 English is based in TMO 17. All the physics seems taken from thar mod. I use FOTRS with Webster's realism mods.

Default Glitch in the mod

I've noticed a few significant glitches in the mod when it comes to two ships:
  1. Trying to sink a Fuso class battleship causes a CTD when the game determines that its taken enough damage to sink.
  2. The "big modern freighter" is a ghost ship. By that, I mead it can tag you with deck guns all day, but, the player is unable to hit it at all. As in, deck guns, torpedoes and even the sub pass through it like it's not there. It can be targeted but, that's all. I'll post a video clip ASAP to show you this one.
  3. Where's the Yamato? In some missions where you need to sink it, it's not even there!
  4. Finally...Homing torpedos...What happened to those? They are there, but, they are straight line weapons only. It kind of sucks when you have the shot all lined up, "Tube 1...FIRE!" and you watch the torpedo go about it's way, missing the target by yards and listening to the Japanese saying "愚かなアメリカ人!あなたも、右を目指すことはできません。私たち日本人ははるかに優れている! " (Stupid Americans! You can not even aim right. We Japanese are far superior!)

Are you using FOTRS 12 or FOTRS 13?
