Real life and real death. This morning marks my father's passing one day before his 96th birthday. We've been with him the past few days knowing it was his time and easing his passing with our love.

Poured a concrete footer early yesterday and just finished bracing a few joists under the porch this morning. Now I'm Kickin' back drinking a hot spice chai. mmmmmm

@ Buddahaid: I lost my dad in 2012, and the tender age of 84. I'm sure most of the members our age know what you're going through. My sympathies.

I've heard people from many places say "If you don't like the weather here, wait five minutes. It will change." This is especially true here in Utah. Two days ago the high was 84F / 29C. Yesterday morning I woke up and it was snowing. Right now it's 56 / 13, with an expected high of 59 / 15.

^Really sorry I overlooked this somehow, buddy. My dad went in the Springtime too a few years back... I'd hoped he would get to sit out and see the daffodils one last time but it was not to be.

Big deal, try a roosting pigeon that wakes me up 4am and I bang the gutter and within 15 to 20 minutes the swine is back hooting. And this goes on until around 7am when the bloody pigeon gets it though its bloody thick head its not welcome. I get a few hours of peace and the swine is back and I have to drive the swine away until it comes back yet again. Bloody shame I don't live in America as I would have blown the swine away with a shot gun.

Nice sunny weather here so I'm taking the boss, our daughter and her husband to a cosy little riverside pub that sells some excellent real ales then off to the coast for a curry.
