Hi all, recently got back in to sub sims after about a 6 year hiatus. Currently playing SH4 with TMO 2.5. Good to be back on the bridge.

I hope I am doing this Mod stuff right. I added a Mod Folder next to the Data Folder. Then I copied the JSMGA stuff into the Mod Folder. Then I put my first Mod (realistic waves) into the same folder.

Then I double clicked on the JSM and told it to activate the Mod. Is that correct? So far my game has not crashed and I have not been in a serious storm yet, so no way to know if its working.

Last but not least. Has anyone figured out how to fix the Black Colorado Battleship? I have noted that it is being caused by the 1.4 patch. The 1.3 patch adds the Colorado.

Then the 1.4 patch adds other stuff, and everything works right after the 1.4 patch has been added, but if you shut the computer off and reboot, then try to play the game, the Colorado has a black skin, but the gun turrets are still the proper color.

Guess I'm not doing it right. I just added that sound Mod the same way, and I played my current Campaign. Didn't hear any new sounds.

I found its best to use a zip prog (7 Zip) to open archives and then place the new files manually into the relevant folders. The drawback, you cannot simply withdraw them by reversing a mod, you are stuck with them unless you make a back up of the relevant folder before changing it.

I use jsgme mod enabler for most of my games. Just put a copy of it in the root folder and it will create a file called MODS and off you go.

I am using JSGME also. When you say Root Menu, you mean the basic menu? Like when right click on the shortcut, I click on find target and it brings up the basic program menu.

That menu has data, registration, blablablabla (you get the idea). Is this what you are referring to when you say root menu?

Oops. I meant root folder of the game. Install jsgme in the main root folder of the game and it will create a file called MODS. Put your unzipped mods in there, then start jsgme and they should show up there.

By the way. I am considering starting to play sh4 again because I can't find opponents for Dangerous Waters. I never did get to try multiplayer sh4 because no one ever seemed to be in the lobby when they used to have one. I always wanted to try american subs versus Japanese surface as I can't stand cooperative multiplayer like they had in sh3. I would rather play against human opponents rather than all the players being on one team versus the AI.

Just recently got back into sh4. Playing with TMO and R&D I'm loving every minute of it. Except for far to many planes, but i digress.
