Does SH3 Commander only load the appropriate skins on patrol *start*? What if, while playing Sh3, you switch around campaigns - play a 1944 one for a bit, jump to a 1941 campaign, etc.

Can SH3 Commander handle that, or are the skins 'fixed' at launch time?

Someones been a busy little bee

Someones been a busy little bee. This is an outstanding addition. I thank you for hard work on consolidating this as a package, I can see alot of long hours sitting in front of the screen to present this to the forum members

Much appreciated.

Yep, the skins are fixed at launch time, according to your next career patrol date. If you decide to go on to another year while still in game nothing will change. That's why it's best to launch with SH3 commander before every patrol.

I've updated the GWX webpage with these links and will add more as they become known to me.

@XanderF: Boris is right. Pls consult the SH3Cmdr Help.html file for more information.

Ichy, great work mate!

Default Install Question

Guys, truly great work! -

I'm downloading them now, and have a couple of the archive files already. Question is, I like the idea of installing them via JSGME - keeps it 'cleaner', but after extracting the two archives I have I have a file directory like this:

GWX Skin Pack - Destroyers
Date

Then a list of files called:

19390901
19391001
19391101
etc.
etc.

Thing is, at what point do I copy them into the MODS folder for JSGME?

Do I just take all the 19390901 type folders, or from date beforehand?

How does it know if a 19390901 file is a destroyer or escort etc. etc.?

Hope this makes sense, but I'm not seeing them in-game, so must be doing something wrong!

Cheers all!

Px3000

Update - Now have all 4 archive files downloaded.

It helps to read the installation instructions:

This skin pack is over 500MB so the download has been divided into four parts. To install you will need to unzip and copy all files into your \SH3 Commander\Date\ folder.

Yes I've seen that, but it refers to doing it manually. Others have it working via JSGME. If I take all folders from the DATE folder in each archive file some of them are named the same. So you can't put them all in together. So thats why I'm asking if it needs to have a 'header' for example.

EDIT - Just re-read melnibonians suggestion - using two JSGME's - one for SH3, the other used in SH3 Commander to add these files.

To install the skin pack using JSGME:

1. Copy JSGME.exe from your \SilentHunterIII folder to your \SH3 Commander folder.

2. Run the JSGME.exe in your \Sh3 Commander folder once (Just double click on it). Don't do anything while you're in it. Then close it. (This creates an Sh3 Commander\MODS subfolder).

3A. Unzip GWXSkinPack_CapitalSHips.7z directly to \Sh3 Commander\MODS folder (You should now see that a \Sh3 Commander\MODS\GWX Skin Pack - Capital Ships subfolder has been created. If not, you've unzipped it to the wrong place.)

3B. Repeat step 3A, using the GWXSkinPack_Destroyers.7z

3C. Repeat step 3A, using the GWXSkinPack_Escorts.7z

3D. Repeat step 3A, using the GWXSkinPack_Merchants.7z

4. Run JSGME.exe in the \Sh3 Commander folder again. You should now see all 4 mods in the window on the left side. Enable the GWX Skin Pack - Capital Ships mod by highlighting it in the window on the left side, then click the Right Arrow. This will move it to the window on the right side (which indicates that it is enabled). Repeat this for the other three mods (Destroyers, Escorts, Merchants), as well. Exit JSGME.

5. Run Sh3 Commander as usual to launch your game. NOTE: It will take considerably longer than usual, while it copies all of those files.
