Default How to Get More Contrast Out of the Map

The lines that you draw in this game on the map... just horrible. Washed out and hard to see. So how can I make these lines darker and bolder. For some insane reason that I always laugh at, TWOS makes the lines HARDER to see! LoL! That's just... who thought of that?

In any case, help is appreciated as I'm trying to enjoy this, not feel like looking at the map is an eye exam. Thanks.

Silent Hunter 5\data\Scripts\Menu\IO_StrategicMap_Settings.py

Code:
#+++++ specific IO_Strategic_map items ++++++++
#
# is the dripped visible?
# change below to either True or False
IOSMDrippedEnabled = False

# is the NavMapSeal visible (stam)?
# change below to either True or False
IOSMNavMapSealEnabled = True

# is the Plastic Texture visible?
# change below to either True or False
IOSMPlasticTextureEnabled = True
Stop lol-ing and rofl-ing and try this...

What does that do? I already had it at true.

Well it doesn't seem to do anything. I still need a magnifying glass to see the marks on the screen from the protractor and ruler. Jesus. Who ever thought it was a good idea???

In the IO Maps mod, IO_StrategicMap_7_5_0_for_TDWv750, there is a package with additional mods. Inside, you can chose different pencils, sharp or normal one. Also different map layouts that surely give different contrasts. Try them out. With some tricks you could even revert to the stockgame map which has better long/lat number contrast (but less map details for water depth).
All this should be compatible with TWoS, but ask Veko (vdr1981) in a separate thread before messing up your TWoS installation.

The IO Map mod can be found here:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=4229

Changing the map will not change the font sizes or their style for better visibility, for that you would need a separate mod (which AFAIK doesn't exist) or: chose a lower monitor resolution for the game that fits your monitor display ratio (e.g. 1920x1080 > 1600x900 > 1280x720). This will make all fonts bigger as a consequence and with better contrast. I have already explained this here:
