Could you post some screenshots of the cockpits please? Are they just reworked better looking cockpits or do they have some other advantages too?
If they have advantages they are a no go for me.

Looks like Dowly was a bit faster Those pits put the default pits in shame. Especially the FW-190 pits are top notch

As Dowly said those are just reskings, but there's also a separate mod that removes that bloody awful bar from 190s, and hence gives you a small advantage. I'm happily using it since that bar is most likely just Oleg's creation, completely non-historical.

ps. Dowly you've got a lovely girly there

Can anyone point me in the direction of some sound mods for IL-2 1946? I'm really tired of hearing the same old lawnmower sound that the game has.

Google "IL2 mod" and take a look at perhaps the second option. That's pretty much all we can say.

I have done that but the problem is that I have the 4.09 beta patch and all of the mods that I've found are for 4.08 and it changes the language to Russian for some reason. Any ideas?

Look at the mod site, your answers are there. Those are all known problems.

I fianally got the cockpits to work now (I guess my soundmod was a old version that didn't do the trick. I have now used a Il-2 modenabler.)
Although I only kept the 109 cockpits. I didn't like the 190 ones.
Unfortunately I can't get the gunsights to work... Maybe they really need a new version of the soundmod.:hmm:

If you mean the more glowing reticles, dont feel down if you cant get them to work. I tried them and while they looked pretty cool, they were too bright for my taste. Especially on night missions.

Copy and paste this into google.

Il2 Mods

It should be the first in the list.

Oh no. I definitely did that and found the site. I'm just having trouble locating certain mods within said site. That's all. I'm really itching to get my hands on that tracer smoke mod and cannot find the damn thing.

Thank you for the PM's.

OK we can discuss this within limitations. How do having these mods affect online play, specifically with respect to our online DCG campaigns. Some of the mods look intresting and don't seem like they are the kind to screw majorly with stuff and breaking it....

So like the ones Fin listed in the first page, can I have them and still fly with you guys or will I need a dual install?

No problems at all, and even if there were you can always switch a modded installation to an unmodded one with a few clicks using the switcher available @ da mods site. Some mods might interfere with campaigns, but the ones I listed, and maybe 90% of mods in general, are mostly graphical enhancements that only affect the user.
