looking for good DC3 for fsx
Does anyone know of a good Douglas DC3 for FSX?
The stock one is an abortion and the VC looks awfull. I've searched in vain for a good one, so if anyone could point me in the direction of a good payware or freeware one I would be most grateful.

Theres an FSX compatibility patch, but keep in mind that it was designed for FS9. Its still the best DC-3 I've seen for the MS line.

I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade, so in my sim time, systems-simulation is just as important to me as the 3d model and flight-model. Keeping that in mind, I also heartily recommend the A2A Boeing 377 with the accusim add-on. http://www.a2asimulations.com/accusim.html Ive heard nothing but good things about their entire accusim line, but that is the only one I own, and therefore the only one I feel qualified to recommend. The systems modeling is second to none. A true study-sim. Also gives you a healthy dose of admiration for the flight crews who thought it was a normal day at work to go trans-pacific in one of those things. (There's four engines on the wings, but on a good portion of flights, you'll land with only three running.)

Thanks for the link to A2A sims, can't believe i have never herd of them before.
I bought the B 17 accusim pack, I can highly reccomend it. It comes as a persistant aircraft so any failures or damage done is carried over to the next flight unless you fix it in the hanger. Never seen that before in any MSFS, way cool. Does the Boeing 377 have the same feature, this may be my next purchase, or the P 47, argh this is going to get expensive Thanks once again for the link

No, the accusim package with the B-17 is a new version, apparently with MUCH more detailed engine modeling. If moving, and general economic malaise werent such a problem at the moment, I'd get it. It looks awesome.

The B-17 is awsome, there's no way I will be able to go back to the default MS aircraft now.
