Default So anyone ever tear a calf muscle?

I tore the crap out of my right calf 15 days ago (2.7" tear). Im told average recovery is 4-6 weeks

its been 15 days and let me tell you it is a struggle just to walk from the bed to the bathroom - if you could call hobbling in there on crutches walking.

if anyone has, what was your recovery experience? its a grade 2 tear, so 4-6 weeks is average and i'd like to have a realistic expectation as to when i can start walking on my own.

anybody?

Hi John, been following your FB page and can say I've had a similar if not identical experience but having been stabbed there way back I can appreciate how your pain thresholds are surely being tested.

My recovery time for the above was a little over four months.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and the ensuing respite for Jame.

A lot depends on your over all health and fitness. I hope you're seeing a good orthopedist about it, and in physical therapy. The quality of physical therapy means a lot also. You want one that works closely with sports teams. Good luck.
