Default 4 Bearings Failure

G'day Subsim,

Long time, no see. Getting back into SH3 after after a while and have been trying to use the hydrophone 4 bearing method. Watched several videos and perused the written examples.

For some reason, after taking the first three bearings and chosing a random point in the 2nd one (like one version says) the two parallel lines that I pass through that point make a 'course line' that is nearly at rigth angles to the actual target course. Clearly I'm doing something wrong and it's the same mistake everytime. (Method attempted shown below).

The issue for me is that about 4 years ago I thought I used the same method to hit a ship nearly 8km's away that I never saw. Can't work out what I'm doing wrong.

Great, can't even get the pic to show up for in there. If anyone has the Kuikueg.pdf it's on the second page. Described as 1. Submarine static. Given three bearings compute course.

Could you provide a picture showing the map drawings to get a sense were you went wrong?
If I understood correctly, this is what you're trying to do:

Hi b
You are missing something in the sequence which is quite easily to do.

Check these out as it will give you a fixed view of things which you might find useful.
