Is the GB still GB without Wales and Scotland? The map I saw shows the borders.

A story from somewhere in the 80's

The Swedish King and the Queen was visiting USA during a Swedish Campaign in the States.

During this visit a Swedish journalist made some daily report.

One day he visit a pub(which was in the basement(like in Cheers))

He asked the people there what they knew about Sweden and where it was on the map.

Can't remember everything being said in this interview I do remember this guy sitting at the bar.

Everyone knows Sweden is an island north of Japan

I was like WHAT !? how can a person be so ignorant, having so little clue about countries. It also made me laugh a lot.

Later I told this to a friend and started to laugh.

He looked at me, why do you laugh ?
Can you place every state in USA ?
Can you place every countries in Soviet ?

I said no to all his questions

Well, he said, this guy at this pub, is maybe bad at geography.
He could be a skilled electrician, plumber, or a lawyer.

From that day on I have never laugh at people when they, like these people in the article, failed to do something right.

Very wise of you. Besides these kinds of stories always cherry pick the most ridiculous examples. 90 people out of 100 could get it right and they'll only show the 10 that messed it up.
