Default That Sound Effect at Change of Shift and how to remove it

Hey guys, I'm recently getting back into the game.

I've got a mod soup going for OM and I'm running into an issue. The issue is during TC, the shift change whistle happens every 3 seconds at high TC.

I remember having this issue in time's past, and I have forgotten how to solve it.

Can anyone tell me the name of the sound file I need to remove to prevent this from happening? It's driving me insane.

I had all this info and files saved on a thumbdrive, which my dog has eaten.

You shouldn't be getting sound of any sort, except submarine ambiance at TC greater than 8x. Check your Main.cfg for the TC settings. The file might be the "Submarine_relieve_watch_INT.wav", if it's the same in your mod soup...

Oh thank the Lord that was it. Yes I have my TC set "funny" because the bug that causes engine and wave sounds to cut out at high TC bugs me. I guess I should say "bug". Anyways, going to try and remove it from the sound folder, I think that is all I had to do last time.

I have no idea why I couldn't find that file. But I typed that into "Find" and it popped right up.

Thanks a million friend!

Yes that fixed it, I moved it to a "Backup Sounds" folder and it no longer plays! My sanity returns!!!

Default alternative sound fix

Hi,
if it had been the case that it crashed the game if you removed the sound file, here is another way to try. Spoof the AI by replacing the sound with a sound file of the same name in the same folder, in the new file which you have recorded...there is silence !
I might do this with the sonar pings, they have been driving me nuts after a few hours, I ended up disabling their sonar and I am having great fun.
