Default Another MK-48 Issue.

This is just a data point...

The MK-48, as modeled in the game, does not home in depth (Z-axis) as well as it does in the X-axis).

All of the torpedoes have the same vertical seeker cone as does the Mk37, which is the only one I had hard data on. The Mk48 is kind of overpowered as it is so I would probably reduce its seeker capabilities than boost them.

Just make the MK-48 acoustic cone uniform. It is wider (in both the X and Z axis) than on that piece of crap MK-37.
The acoustic aperture size is based on the beam forming and is synthetic anyways (based on internal software/processor).

The reason I say this is because when the AI has the contact evading in depth, the MK-48 will miss. This is unrealistic since the afterbody tailcone of the weapon can maneuver the torpedo at a much greater rate than any submarine can perform.
