Default Time for a change?

I've been laying silent about mods since SH2 days. It seems like all of the super mods for any of the silent hunter games focus completely on making the dd's uber and generally making the game very difficult.

Likes of previous supermods.

1. More ships, planes, subs etc.
2. Updated skins and graphics.
3. Damage realism.

Hates of previous mods.

1. Ninja DD's
2. Disturbingly smart merchants.
3. Sniper dive bombers with "z axis radar".

I know I'm not the only one who'd like to see less buffing and nerfing of the game and would like to see mods that transform the game into something else. I really can't wait for some of the ATO mods like Kreigsmarine. If anyone could help me though, I'm looking for more upgrade packs. It could be fun just to have something like a dozen different deck guns with rarety based on rank. Possibly more focus on the special ability crew as well.

The time and effort put into the realism super mods is appreciated... But how many are there for sh4 now? How many was there for sh3? It's getting monotenous imo.

It's hard to keep the mod realism based and easy at the same time. Especially the Uboat mods. 3 out of 4 uboatmen didnt make it, I think that speaks for itself. The DD's are supposed to be hard, something to be feared and avoided like the plague.

I have to disagree with the airplanes being too accurate too. Uboat isnt that fast at surface to really be able to avoid the bombs, of course, if the bomber is experienced and knows his stuff. As for bombing accuracy while the uboat is submerged, there is one thing neither SH3 nor SH4 model. The wake and bubbles that will remain on the spot of where the sub dived, IRL the foam stayed there for minutes, making it possible for the planes to guess the location of the sub, not accurately if the sub changed direction while submerged, but still.

I don't think that it is monotonous at all. The Silent Hunter series and the Janes/Sonalyst software are simulations. The goal of simulation is the creation of the most realistic experience possible without getting your feet wet. Accordingly, no submariner of any nation in any theatre had it easy. War is not easy.

That being said, there are a few 'unrealism' mods out there. If you search the forum, you should be able to find them. Some of them are pretty comprehensive as well. Also, if they are not to your liking, why not try to make your own? This is pretty much how each of these modders began. A journey always begins with a single step, and I am sure that any of these people would be happy to give you some pointers.
