Default Transparent Bodies and Hollow Eyes

Hello, the bodies of my crew became transparent in bad weather. I can see the horizon or the conning tower walls through their heads. Also they have hollow eyes.

The only mod I am using is FotRSU 0.63but I'm not sure if the effects are caused by the mod.

Uncheck "Voluminous Fog" under your graphics settings - then everything should be fine again.

Thank you, unfortunately it didn't do much. The transparency improved marginally. I can still see the antenna mast through the desk watch's skin. The eye sockets are still empty.

Have you Saved, Exited the game, and then come back into the game and loaded the save, YellowFin? Also, was that Save folder emptied when you activated FotRSU? How much RAM does your computer have and do you have LAA activated? Which video card are you using?

As propbeanie said, computer specs would be nice to have in order to error-check. However, I used to run SH4 on an old Dell with 500mb RAM, so I doubt that's an issue.
My first step would be to disable the mod and see if your problem is still there. Next step would be lowering graphics settings (if that makes a difference) and, finally, uninstalling and reinstalling SH4 vanilla. Make sure to back up your files first before you do that, though.

Thanks. I doubt it's my specs.

Intel Core i5 6600K BOX (LGA 1151, 3.50GHz, Unlocked)
ASUS Maximus VIII Hero (LGA 1151, Intel Z170, ATX)
Raijintek Arcadia schwarz (Midi Tower)
HyperX Fury (4x, 4GB, DDR4-2133, DIMM 288)
Samsung SM951 NVMe, bulk (512GB, M.2 2280)
ZOTAC GTX 970 (4GB, Mittelklasse)
Philips 288P6LJEB (28", 3840x2160)
Alpenföhn Ben Nevis (14.10cm)
Super FlowerGolden Green HX 80Plus (750W)

I'll try de- and reactivating the mod.

Yep, specs-wise you should be more then capable of running SH4.
Looks like the only problem is SH4 itself. Disabling and re-installing the mod should work.

Indeed. With Volumetric Fog on, I've always had somewhat transparent crew. The heavier the fog, the worse it gets. It's probably tied for #3 on the "Things I Wish Would Get Fixed" list, along with a lot of others.

I unchecked Environmental Effects in the graphic settings and it solved this problem for me.

Funny thing, since I installed Win10 on this laptop my watch crew now have binoculars, whereas their hands were empty before (mind you, that was in SH3). I think hollow eyes and transparent bodies is caused by too much schnapps...

The next version of Fotrs Ultimate Beta after v0.63 (not yet released) has the eyes corrected. Which by the way, is a Stock game bug.

The ability to "see" through walls/crewmen is a graphic setting issue.....just because you have a new, bigger than ever computer, doesn't mean you can run up ALL options to maximum and expect to play this 11 year old game like a new one.

Yeah... I burnt another hole in the sea with the setting sun just yesterday - and I didn't need booze for the effect. Of course, being naturally "dizzy" does help...
