Default Paths of Hate (Dogfight Anime)

Stumbled on this piece of work, must say it's a great piece of Anime:

I'll start by saying I'm far from being a fan of anime.

I'll finish by saying, wow, that was quality craftsmanship and for me a fantastic first six minutes, after that it got a bit silly for my liking but the artistic quality was still there.

That was pretty good, although it reminded me of the game .

If you haven't seen it before you should check out Sky Crawlers:

It's from the same guy who did Ghost in the Shell. I haven't watched it yet(the story seems a bit silly), but it looks amazing.

I watched Paths of Hate at the animation show from college. It's good.

Sky Crawlers isn't one of his best. I sat through it and half the time couldn't understand what they were on about. Maybe the english dub missed some subtext or something.

Had a few great scenes in it though, enjoyed Sky Crawlers for its mid air dogfights, not its story.

I really enjoyed Sky Crawlers, though I am a fan of Anime in general. The basic premise of Sky Crawlers is there are a number of large corporations who have their own air forces (dunno why, just do) and the pilots are literally manufactured for the job. As soon as one is shot down, their replacement arrives in the same manner as they did. The squadron leader/commander person ends up falling in love with this one pilot, but she knows that he won't be there for ever and will be replaced, but he doesn't or something lol.

The dogfight scenes are breathtaking though, and all done in Vue.
