bullhorn Keyboard Layout Plugin Mods

Do you play a mod that changed your keyboard layout from what you like and you want to go home again but love the gameplay aspects of the supermod? Line forms here.

Now, with my keyboard plugin mods you can have the keyboard layout you love and even change it if you want, because I have three mods: TMOKeys, GFOKeys and StocKeys, which will introduce your chosen keyboard layout into any game configuration WITHOUT MAKING ANY SNEAKY UNANNOUNCED CHANGES to your gameplay.

These are guaranteed compatible with any installation, no matter how modded. Load them after the supermod that screwed up your keyboard.

In the GFOKeys and StocKeys files I added shift-i for "Exec, hows about IDing that target for me?" and shift-F3 to take you to the attack map.

And as an added bonus, if you order now, each keyboard plugin adds Jimimadrid's Key Mapper to your game. Just double-click Keymapper and you can tweak your keyboard layout at will.

Who says you can't get SH4 to play like you want? Rockin Robbins says YES YOU CAN!

Great idea RR, thanks. I hate it when hitting 'instinctive key commands' from one setup produces the wrong result on another - lol

Happy Hunting!

The idea was so obvious I can only think of a couple reasons nobody has done this so far.

The most important is that it is such a trivial exercise for a modder that they couldn't possibly think that it was worth any renown! Nobody is going to call you an awesome modder for something like this. But I'm NOT an awesome modder so I really don't care.

My next project will be to analyze TMOPlot and EZPlot to see that they are compatible with all game configurations and to come up with an RFBPlot mod even though I really hate the plotting system in RFB. Then players will be able to pick any of the three plotting schemes for any mod configuration.

This would have been a darned popular idea (and one attacked by some supermodders) in 2009. I even thought of it then but tried selling it for the supermodders to do. They didn't bite.

So now I have to compile a chart showing all ship types for Stock, GFO, GFO/RSRD, RFB, RFB/RSRD, TMO, TMO/RSRD and FOTRS. Then I have to ensure that all three plotting mods cover all the ships of all the mods. I might as well publish the chart too, for those who are interested. These mods will be more complicated than the keyboard mods. Maybe it will be worth 50 renown or so!
