Default New Das Boot?

Please boycott this crap. The Mils of today have run out of ideas for anything remotely artistic so the first place they run is "REMAKES"! Unless they have the same crew experience as the original (since todays "film masters" can't make sheet without CGI), please don't pander to them. There are plenty of Mils that will fork out their subsidies to "zombie effect" watch this crap. Three dollars and you get REAL ACTING!!

I can't view this. Restricted for other countries.

That said, I do have a Das Boot Director's Cut DVD. Which is the original footage and remastered sounds iirc and some extended cutscenes. With Wolfgang's and Jürgen's commentary/recollections of their experiences as bonus tracks. What I have isn't a re-shoot of the story with different cast. Like for example Arnie's Total Recall( 1990) vs. Collin Farrel's Total Recall(2012). If that is what you mean.

Ok, you probably mean this, a continuation of where the previous script left off:

As long as they don't voice-dub it into english and leave the german language in tact I think I'm all for it. But I don't know what is in that video.

There are several versions of Das Boot:

1981 unreleased version (209 minutes)
1981 original theatrical cut (150 minutes)
1984, 1988 BBC miniseries (300 minutes)
1997 "Director's Cut" (208 minutes) (The one most of us have on DVD)
2004 "The Original Uncut Version" (293 minutes) (A definite must-watch for fans of Das Boot. Loads more content.)

As long as it is eventually dubbed into English, that would be great. Watching Das Boot in German w/ English subtitles really takes away from the experience, as my eyes are glued to the subtitles the entire time, and there's so much amazing visuals, that you invariably miss out just through reading so much.

The dubbing on the original Das Boot was tremendous, with all the voices being done by the original actors, and the script being edited cleverly to match the mouth-movements of the actors as closely as possible.
