wolf_howl15 We Fear She Is Lost

My Windows XP computer 2002 - 2018.

"We fear she is lost and has gone down somewhere in the vicinity of a 1942 SH3 campaign."

Perhaps this is the time to finally move to another SH version.

Absolutely not, you can play SH3 on Win7,8,10. Follow the sticky instructions, and SH3 will shine even better than before

I have been playing SH3 on Windows 7 since 2011 and never had compatibility issues yet. The important thing is you have to install the game and the patch as administrator outside Program Files and it should be fine.

I did have a compatibility issue on 8.1. I was shown how to set the compatibility for the game and poof! Issue gone. Game runs fine. I've been told this works on 10 as well.

Same here.
And armed trawlers. Tons of naval trawlers...

Best regards,

Well, since you said it first....

I'm also on Linux (Fedora 27 now) with WINE.
(PlayOnLinux is a "helper tool" for WINE.)
Using Disk version of SH3, and Steam version of SH4, all mods so far working well.
S3D also works!

(Had a driver issue, only affected SH3/4, but fixed now.)

Yes, currently Mint 18.3 here, but had it running for quite a while. Playonlinux just makes Wine easier to configure. I also installed the Windows Steam to allow me to play Gemcraft, Kingdom Rush, KR Frontier... and Cold Waters. I had to install the MS fonts for the latter. I was amazed that these games would just work, once Steam was installed.

Same here, I even transplanted an install of SH3 from Windows 7 to 10. Worked without issues. (Until Windows 10 decided on it's own it must reboot to install an update while I left the game running paused in the background for days. As I was chasing a convoy the shutdown probably corrupted the savegame.)
