Anything is possible, Markus but it's more likely someone just playing with a new toy and causing disruptions at the airport. The drones can be expensive and if a one or more are shot down and the operator of the drone prosecuted and incarcerated, this may well end it.

You have got it wrong. What I have been talking about is not how all events involve Russia or resolve around Russia (they don't, our contribution to the world affairs is fairly modest), but how many events (which are not related to Russia) are attributed (to Russia) because (Russia) is a convenient scape goat.


However it appears that this line of discussion is not welcome, thus I would not pursue it.

Just to put things in perspective, I don't view Russia as a scapegoat and I have doubts that most do either. I also think Russian contributions in world affairs are greater than you might think. That's not a bad thing. It just seems your line of thought is that the drone issue involves Russia and it doesn't.

but Ikalugin was just making a joke. He said "it sure was Russia" because all strange or negative events are immediately connected with Russia, by almost all western media.
Of course there is also a twist..

Hopefully back to normal now.

Gatwick's runway has reopened after drones caused the airport to shut down for more than a day.

The airport, the UK's second busiest, said 837 flights were scheduled but there were delays and cancellations.

Boss Chris Woodroofe said "mitigating measures" from the government and military had given him "confidence to reopen".

The drone operator is still at large and police said it was possible they were an environmental activist.

The airport is expected to be "back to normal" by the end of Saturday.

Did I understand correctly that there were multiple drones being used to disrupt air traffic ? You had mentioned marksmen but how effective can they be if the drones are moving at a high rate of speed ?


Can " buck shot " be used or jamming the drones or using other drones to capture the offending ones ?
