Default Switch auto/manual targetting

Hello,
I would like to know if there's a mod or a game interface that allows you to switch on/off the manual targetting while playing in a career patrol or in a single mission. Thank you to share what you know on this subject.

Hi,

For me the best choice is to set game option on manual shooting.

and to setup keyboards commands to have 1 shortcut for "identy target=shift+L" and another for "target solution=CTRL+L"

so if you don't want to calculate yourself the target solution or if you want to verify if your calculs are correct, you just have to press CTRL+L and you immediately have the 3 good values (distance-aob-speed) and you can shoot as if you were in auto targetting !

:-)

[Cmd343]
Name=WP_Identify_target
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F130002
Str=1073
Key0=0x4C,s,"SHIFT L"

[Cmd344]
Name=WP_Solution_to_target
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F130003
Str=1074
Key0=0x4C,c,"CTRL L"

:-)

Open file data/Cfg/Commands_en.cfg and find command "Toggle_TDC_autoupdate" (That line Cmd131 can be different in your config) and change it like this:

[Cmd131]
Name=Toggle_TDC_autoupdate
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F010017
Key0=0x54,c,"CTRL T"

With this you can turn autoupdate on or off by pressing Ctrl+T.

Default edit of Commands_en file

Since returning to SH3 with availability from Steam, I play a stock version with some 20+ mods.

I dislike firing torpedoes with the "Enter" key, since it has accidentally cost me a torpedo.

Vaguely, remembering back to 2005 or so, I'd been able to change the command to "CTRL + Enter" but I was unsure of the method. I'm now able to edit the Commands_en file to make the necessary changes since the recent posts by ericlea and JeromeHeretic.

Thank you for your posts, much appreciated!

I've also added some additional keystrokes with minor edits within the Commands_en file to simplify game play.

Thank you, again.

Reading this thread earlier would saved me a lot of time by reading 50++ site threads finding out if the several guis have any impact for calculating aob, distance etc.

For me as a complete noobie, these cmds are the answer for everything related measuring.

Thanks alot!

Is there also a possibility/command to switch the contact update on the map on/off during a patrol?

Hi Grrrouch

I think you can only turn Map Contact Updates on/off in the realism settings
