Default Copying the game

One thing I did which worked well was to successfully copy my main, well running TvsT game.I copied the whole folder to my external hard drive and then used that external hard drive to copy it on my wife´s laptop and both games work very well.I would advise you guys to try the same so you have ready-to-go back up games for Kursk and future releases also in case one of your pcs or your only computer crashes you have a back up of the whole install without having to go through the fresh install and applying the successive releases. As long as this problem of the 2B version crashing on a fresh install is solved we cannot take anything for granted.Meanwhile I am going to install that same 2B verison on my secondary TvsT install on my wife´s computer so I can publish a crash report for ZW to analyse.

LC the only reason I am not converting to Window 7 is because I have over 14 games installed on my main laptop many of them modded to death and unless I can make copies of them all I am reluctant to start from scratch unless it can be proved that Win 7 would really be nirvana...

Thanks to all of you guys for moral and material support! it´s great to feel I am not alone

Default Success at last!

Hi Guys I finally managed to get it working.I installed the last 2B release on my secondary install with only the Xmas gift installed and it worked!

I am starting to suspect that the problem I had was because I may have installed the previous version of 2B or alternately what I was doing before was extracting the mod into a separate folder and then from that folder installing them into my game. This time around I extracted the mod staright into my game folder and from there installed it. Whatever the reason it´s working!

Big relief! But I still believe it makes sense to make integral copies of your running game either on an external hard disk or a USB stick or into another drive on your hard disk.Just to experiment and when there are future mods/releases with bugs you always have a fallback and you avoid screwing your main game and can safely install the modfs when they re working well on your back up install
Cheers

Thanks ZW for your advice

Its maybe a Win 7 problem but every time i put manually files in those folders i get an error message. It s the same with steelroad gears.

I had this kind of problem from the beginning on, i cant replace files manually this causes error messages and crashdowns

LC
Ok LC,
It souds like one of the files is in the wrong folder

You will have to drag from the zip into the following folders.

Put the ReSupplyTsk.script in the:

Interactive\T34vsTiger\Common

Put the other two script files in the:

Interactive\T34vsTiger\Units

And then let me know how it works

Hi ZW,

TvT dont let me to change files manually. You had a readme and there you showed me the right path. Even then when i delete the original file and copy your files or when i paste the files to let them overwrite.

There are other games / IL2 Sturmovik) wich are more complicated in structure and i work a lot with pc (bulid them up, repair etc)and mods to make them work.
I tried this from the beginning, when i asked you to give me the steel road version of the Tigrt I. No go there too. So i let those files, because i had every time an error message.

Thanks for your support

regards

LC

The other files in the unit folder have a nearly identical error message (when i delete ReSupplyTsk.script just for testing)

OK LC,
I did'nt fully understand that in your post - sorry. I wounder if this in-ability
to overwrite files is a security issue that takes logging in as administrator
to address.
Also if you have the ReSupplyTsk.script already you do not need this patch.

Take care LC, we'll get to the bottom of this,

ZW

Default execution.log file

Frinik,
Thanks a million! This log file helped me zero in on
the problem.

As you may already know; in preparing the files for
the updates I have to carefully strip out all the
references to the models that are NOT included
and as I suspected I made an error.
I will correct this error with the Kursk release because
there will be a minimum of file prep and therefore
avoiding these kinds of errors. Although this can
be addressed I will put it on a low priority.

The reason for this shift in priority is because I want
to keep my focus on Kursk and not be distracted by
putting out fires that can pop up with even error
free releases. So, I will work this in but I do not
want to give a time as of yet for the patch, thus
dead-line pressure is less of a factor.

Cheers
ZW

Thanks for the scripts ZW

Achtung ze Ammo Vindow ist Beautivul!

Zeewolf Big thanks not had time to fully test yet but I found a Hannomag
in Tiger BO mission and column parked up waiting for clearance. Drove past Hanomag and the Ammo Fairy called! Magic Wand and window showed full load. Haven't had time to test this function fully but looking good so far.
Interesting reading all comments from Lc & Frinik especially the patching sequence. When I've got more time (soon) I will copy these files whatever and back this lot up for future "fiddling". Looks like patch 2B has it all except possibly the resupply function.
Thanks to again Zee and other tankers

Hi
just tried the Resupply files, added 'B', and played the first mission with the 251 sitting (or should I say driving in circles, Tiger exhaust fumes must be getting to the driver ) behind me to begin with. Blasted off a couple of 88 rounds, pressed for resupply and it all worked. Excellent stuff !!
Cheers

first of all thank you for dealing with "my problem". Your support is unblievable.

I cant say that i had this kind of support from lighthouse interactive
BIG THANX

ZW, i am the admin on my pc, i have all rights and "no limits"

I didnt explained well.
Sorry from my side, these are the problems that might happen with me, cause of bad explanation.

I do not have the ReSupplyTsk.script in the Common folder

To install problems:

I can paste, copy or delete those files (your files) but every time you know- error message.
I think that TvT on Win 7 maybe requiers a " kind of whole patch" and not segments of a patch".

When i mod up IL 2 i do not get error messages, but in this sense i do the same as with TvT. It seems TvT is more delicate.
I think those files had to be integrated as a whole patch. I cant explain you see, your whole self extracting patches are working. Its strange.

As you mentioned (its not so bad not having supply) this kind of problems should not hinder you, better focus yourself on KURSK .
These are only two missions. If Kursk released, who cares about these two mission. (my oppinion)
Kursk will be more komplex and therefore i think we do have many posts to cure problems in your new add on.

Thanx and greetings

Default Hannomag Function

Hello Zee Happy to report Hannomag function works fine tried out in 3 missions. Repair seems to work also (had a yellow hit register on turret) but cannot test on T34s!! This is due to (so far) catastrophic damage
taken when in T34 so Russian repair "Hannomag" more likely to need to bring coffins!!

Weird problem with Lc unable to insert/overwrite files I mean if you can locate them in folders then they should be accessable if no security blocker on. Would a newer antivirus do this if activated like think it was a trojan or something (just rambling toughts).

Thanks again Zee
Hope you get your prob sorted Lc I don't know much about Win7

Default LcSummers Win 7 Problem

Hi Lc came across some stuff regarding overwriting files and getting the authority to change file content in www.howtogeek.com and http://socialtechnet.microsoft.com/forums where this problem is recognised. Apologies if you've looked at this and it didn't work for you just thought that this seems to have been picked up and so must have a solution somewhere!
Sorry if I just confused issue but thought I'd pass this on for info mate.
Applies to Win 7 & Vista apparently.

Cheers ATB ort
PS Hope you can get a smiley when its fixed eh??- Bloody computers!!

Default General Question default to driver position does it happen to others

General question directed to all, in some missions, mostly Russian for some reason, I get defaulted to the drivers position when I am the gunner and
trying to "inch the tank foreward" by instructing driver (through the w key) so I can glimpse the enemy for a nice hull down shot. What happens is tank goes forward, I see we are too far fwd (i.e. exposed) then command backwards (s key) to escape, but engine stalls (see P position changed to driver) and I am shot to ribbons while I scramble about the keys trying to either get back or start engins as driver or get off a shot as gunner - either way recover situation somehow anyway result - pandemonium and disaster!
Is it just me I haven't tested completely yet and it doesn't happen all the time so not a show stopper just mildly annoying - I wonder if I'm doing something wrong? Would love to know/interested!
Frinik glad your install worked fine now!

All the Best - Mort

Hi Morttheslayer
The issue has been brought before and I will have to address this. Nothing
is more frustrating then maneuvering into a stealth position and have your
auto-driver getting you zapped. I have not played the T34 as much as the
Tiger but I will try and be more balance with my attention toward the T34.
Although, it may have to wait until after the Kursk release.

A tip for you Soviet tankers: If you see the Tiger you can bet he sees you.
So, (a word to the wise ) never expose until you are ready to fire. And if
you pop up and see his turret is already turned towards you, sneak around
until you can find a position where he is not ready for you. Or else
