Default Question: IDL and SH4

I can fiind all kinds of info from back in the v1.3 (and previous) days of Silent Hunter 4 (shudder), and issues with targeting etc. caused by crossing the International Date Line. For the life of me though, I cannot find if the devs used a straight liine at the 180 latitude, or if they "zig-zagged" it, like it was in real life back then, or if they used the "modern" version... Anyone know? aanker??? - I'm guessing they straight-lined it at the 180 mark. Thanks...

btw, anyone up to teaching an old dog new / old tricks? Why does the "site:" search not bring in sensible hits anymore?...

I doubt very much that they zigged it, never seen any evidence of that; straight lines of longitude have always worked for me, any line from 180d heading East or West.

No targeting issues related to the old pre v1.4 patches either, hope this helps. I remember blank quarters from those early days, ha!

I use site:subsim.com search terms in Google all the time, no problem.

Thank you, kind sir! I didn't figure they'd zig-zag the IDL, seeing-as how difficult it is to draw a straight line even. I also have seen no evidence to the contrary, and oh how well I remember the 'good ole days' of seemingly weekly SH4 updates, that sometimes broke more than they fixed...

As for the searches, either Google is bringing in outside hits in addition to the SubSim ones, or else my left pinkie Shift key finger has gone suddenly weak, and I'm getting a semi- instead of full colon. It's already well documented that my eyes have done gone bad, along with other body systems and peripherals...
