Default [REL] Convoy Map for TMO

An alternative pull down map to the one used in TMO 2.0.

I found a blank version of this map whilst rooting around the game folder looking for something else.
So I recoloured it, and added a rough approximation of TMO's convoy routes.
(Checked using the 42b Convoy layer, at the limit of Japanese expansion)

Version for TMO Only

Version for TMO+RSRD (checked using the '42 convoy layer)

Download
TMO ONLY:http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=2735
TMO+RSRD:http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=2739

EDIT: Please note that the above maps are not absolutely tits on accurate, but are close enough to get you in the ballpark.
They show convoy routing only. Task forces, invasion forces and single merchants may well use different routes.
Also note that they represent the situation in late '42, when the Japanese Empire was at the zenith of it's expansion. As the war drags on, fewer of these routes will be used.

Just realised something.
This will show you the routes used pretty well if you are running TMO only.
If you are using TMO+RSRD, the routes are not accurate.
I'll knock up a RSRD version tomorrow.

Thanks, Sergei
Awaiting the RSRD version. I sometimes play SH4 with just TMO, but I usually use RSRD.
Is a version for "We Dive at Dawn" possible for that TO?

Is this the same pull-down map attached to the radio I got with TMOv2? I never noticed it before, but its really handy. At least I know if I'm in the right area now.

Oops! I should have re-read post #1 again. Answered my own question. I do like yours for RSRDC better, and will D/L it right away. Much better detail. I assume I have to be in port before installing??? That's OK though. I'm on my way back to Freemantle as we speak.

Traffic out of Truk

Could you have taken the traffic out by accident? I remember you had a More Merchant Traffic Mod for overhaul 1.9 from April, 2010. The 1941-44 jap_merchant.mis files in the campaign folder was changed. Perhaps traffic was eliminated by overhaul version 2.0. If these files may be the cause, send me a private email message and I will gladly send the compressed file to you.

Thanks for all of your hard work once again to make SH4 more enjoyable.

You do, but not in the convoy layer I think.

42b Singles Layer
Plenty of single merchant traffic going into and out of Truk.

But I decided not to put the singles routes on the map as well, else it would just end up a mess of criss crossing lines.

Having said that, I will probably end up re-doing the TMO only version.
I was working from a screen grab of the ME (see shot) rather than having the ME open at the same time so that I could zoom in to check details.

As you can see from the shot, I feel I have over simplified TMO's convoy routing, and a few routes I can see on my map are just plain wrong.

Only use it if you are actually running RSRD, not just because you prefer the look of it!
