Help with scripted campaign layers

Alright, now since the stock campaign is rather......uh....empty when it comes to accurate battles around Gaudalcanal, I've taken to spicing it up a bit.

However, I can't for the life of me get the scripted battles to show up in the campaign. Even when I sail to the approximate spot and time where Turner and Mikawa should be slugging it out, there's nothing.

The layer is a reworked BattleOfGuadalcanal.mis from stock btw.

So, what am I doing (or not doing)? Could this be a problem with the dates, something in the mission editor not set right, sun and moon not aligned?

Any ideas?

EDIT: Well I saved the same layer as a single mission, and it works beautifully. Now I'm truly lost.

Tater is the campaign layer expert here so he will have to weigh in on this...

What you need to do is this:

Take your guadalcanal missions and put them in the Campaigns folder with all the other campaign missions (41a_Jap_TaskForce.mis, etc, all that stuff).

There is a file called Campaign.cfg in the Campaigns folder. Open it. Look at the entries in there. Copy one whole entry and paste it at the end.

Should look like this:
Code:
[Section 89]
FileName=data/Campaigns/Campaign/Aleutians_traffic.mis
StartDate=19410101
EndDate=19460101
GameModes=SingleMission,SinglePatrol,Career
InclusionProbability=100
MinimumDifficultyRating=0
MinimumPlayerRating=-3
EntryFocalPointLong=0
EntryFocalPointLat=0
MaximumDistanceFromStartPoint=90000
ExclusiveLayer=No
ExclusiveLayerID=0
You will need 1 such section for each mission file you add. The section number need to be unique, so if the last you see is 89, make yours 90, 91, 92, etc.

This part: FileName=data/Campaigns/Campaign/Aleutians_traffic.mis needs to point at your new mission (just the name at the end since you added it to the campaign). The start and end dates are NOT the battle, they are the dates that the game will load the mission. You want it a few months early, because missions load when you leave on patrol. If you set it as August 8th, and you leave port Aug 7, you won;t see it.

GameModes=SingleMission,SinglePatrol,Career needs to be what you want to see the mission.

Ther rest leave default.

Done.

I'll be sure send it right on over, that is once I get a chance to work out a few outstanding issues.

Oh, and for now it's just Savo Island, for now.
