better sand and better rocks

I must be crazy but I cannot download the better sand and better rocks MOD for Silent Hunter 4. I get the text file and others but not the one which will download it. I`ve downloaded about 50 some mods now with no problem. What am I doing wrong

Do you have SH4, or SH5? You're in the SH5 threads is why I ask. Also, whose file are you trying to download? Sober has a Sober's Better Sand file, and a separate Sober's Better Rock file for SH4. I just downloaded both mods, and they have a text file or two in their "root" folder, and a "Data" folder. Under the data folder is a "Terrain" folder. Under that is "Textures" and under that are several DDS files that are "pictures" of the material. That's all there is to them. Use JSGME as usual to activate them. There are several other mods that alter the appearance and / or rendering of the objects. Sober also has similar for SH5, but I've not used those.

I really am sorry for taking to long to get back to you. I`ve had some other issues to worry about and now I`m ok. cannot still download the file. Could you please put it into the most simple terms possible. IE do this first then second and so on. I`m really getting concerned that I cannot get it correctly.Have not had this type of problem before. I hate to said this but I`m 70 years young, but still going strong I think. I now have a library of 34 submarine books. Sorry to ramble, if you could help I would appreciate it.

The thing to do there tscalvert, is if you have SH4 - aka: Silent Hunter: Wolves of the Pacific, click on this link:

which will take you to the SH4 portion of the SubSim site. This is the SH5 area in this thread of yours, so head on over to the SH4 area, make a "new topic" posting, and describe your issue over there. I have a feeling ("a feeling deep inside - oh yeah"), that this will take a few more postings.

If you have SH5 - aka: Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic, then you'll have to have someone more familiar with SH5 help you. I can't even get my Captain to get on and off ladders in a safe, yet efficient manner in SH5, which makes it somewhat difficult to "Crash Dive!" the boat when an airplane approaches. 'Course, the plane will eventually make a hole in the boat, thereby allowing us to get our boat beneath the waves...
