Your Castaway stories

Seems Oberon is flying Castaway and I just did the second mission.

Is a lot of fun with great briefings. I shot down an HK-8 flying boat in mission number 2 but that was only cos he had spotted me.

Mission number 3 awaits tomorrow.

I kinda broke the first mission a bit, ran out of height before the runway and plonked in the drink, but still, the big man said Mission Complete, so who am I to argue?

Castaways= The prestory to the campaign I posted about in the mod thread "Bushpigs"

In this campaign you are in a flying in a squad when your planes navigation stuff goes to crazy... and are seperated from your squad.

When you were separated you got lost, flying for awhile you are running out of fuel. Then all of a sudden it happens, your engines sputter and shut off, the other person in the plane with you spots land which you soon find out is a abandoned airfield. belonging to the Japanese, but apparently they arnt concerned about it.

After landing you access the situation, you find that the base still has food stores, and some munitions/fuel. Figuring you couldn't get out, you decide to help the war effort in your own way. attacking the Japanese that is.

And that's all im telling... Its on M4T (mission4today)

He also has made a Campaign like castaways called Bushpigs. similar aspect, except its a planned operation by the RAAF... Same aspect, attack japanease forces behind enemy lines, and try not to get found out...

Both are Very good, and have plenty of cut scenes between missions.

I landed in the first mission but ripped off my undercarriage which was amazing fixed by mission 2.

I'm flying mission 3 tonight.

He he. This is great got 3 transports.

Then the two escorts showed up. Managed to evade them but the Wildcat was no help.

Next mission should be interesting.

Aaah, that one. Yeah, took me two goes at that one because the first time I engaged the escorts first and then by the time I'd knocked them down the transports were nearly at their airbase. Fail.

So, next time I took down the transports first, whilst dodging the escorts gunfire, then the Wildcat showed up and provided another target for the escorts briefly whilst I dispatched the last of the transports. Then wheeled back and took out one of the escorts and then saw the other one break up and fall into the ocean. That Wildcat DID have a use after all!!

This is also the first time I have flown with map icons off.

Quite a challenge.

Yep, I love japanease planes... they turn into cookers nicely... lol
