B-17 Flying Fortress

The B-17G is one of my favorite planes of ww2. The original DOS game has supposedly been released as freeware. Does anybody have a link?

Apparently Shockwave Productions/A2A Simulations has bought the rights to the code,
so not sure if it's freeware anymore.

Also, abandonware sites link to amazon instead of free download.

BTW, RedOctober, if you're interested in B-17 II Gog.com is selling it for $5.99:

Dowly, when did Shockwave/A2A do this? I haven't been on their forums in a long time..... now my curiosity has been peaked.

They tried to get the rights from Atari a several years ago but the cost was out of sight and the aquisition was dropped. And Atari would not even let any codes out so the sim could be improved or modded and multiplayer could be added.

BTW... I have a couple original boxed B17 The Might 8th discs in my possession.... withthe 2 patches on the. Manuals are include in these. I'm guessing these on Amazon won't have the book manuals or cockpit poster.

Subsim rules demand that to remain a member of this forum you now need to reformat your computer, visit your local church and seek forgiveness from his Holiness the Neal Stevens, and sacrifice a copy of U-571 to the Gods for penance.

So it is written so it be done.

Isn't a sacrifice something that's supposed to be painful? Maybe he should then watch it instead of destroying it.

I have deleted the illegal files from my computer. I believe that this thread should be locked and deleted.

@Hunter. That is your cue.

Please delete this, as i did not wish this to happen. I feel terrible about this.

Yeah, pry his eyes open with matchsticks and make him watch U-571 repeatedly, or any US remake of any half-decent foreign film.

Deleting this thread would not serve as a good warning to others!

I happen to like U571. If you want me to really be tortured, put on a Bieber song.
