Default Issues, Mistakes or Things Overlooked.

I am running the V1.06 update.

Since the V1.06 update I have found that some surface contacts go into a 'circle mode' after the first target is hit with a torpedo (we in the submarine force NEVER call them FISH).

When a large surface combatant is hit but not outright sunk, they still will do a high speed egress from the area. This is not normally the case. A surface ship will almost always have to slow to keep from tearing herself apart... five to six knots at the most.... not 26kts...... This goes for submarines also.

Since the developers have decided to introduce "Pursuit Mode" on the MK-48 (in V1.06), no matter the closing 'target to torpedo' aspect, when the torpedo impacts the aft end of the submarine, it does not slow down.. How do you do 26kts with your screws FUBAR or your engine room flooded????

Normally, when a torpedo strike occurs, many of the systems or subsystem will shutdown or have to be reset due to the shock... eg. the reactor scrams, boilers safeties trip (surface ship), pump or electrical breakers trip and have to be reset. To bring this all back online take a finite amount of time. I could see the target slowing for five to 10 minutes then starting back up, but at a slower speed.

The MK-48 had two modes for contact. Pursuit Mode and Corrected Intercept. These are selectable and can be changed after time of fire (TOF) (if you have the wire). 99% of the time Corrected Intercept is employed.

After your torpedo acquires the target, the TMA and display updates with the accurate target parameters. This is good.... and accurate if you have the wire at Time of Impact (TIM). The issue is that the AI engine places the 'sunk' icon at the position of the generated solution, which may have several thousand yards of error. This is bad...

Now I have for the last couple of months complained and offered new data. I really like this game. Best $35.00 spent in a long time on software. As a Submarine Combat Systems Field Engineer (and retired FTCS/SS) several of my co-workers have bought the game.

I do not expect all of my comment to be corrected. Just the ones that make sense to the developers.... Good job devs....
